Overarching Philosophy of Safeguarding
The Sultan’s School is committed to ensuring the welfare, safety, and mental health of all students, fostering an open, safe, supportive and nurturing atmosphere in which students thrive.
Systems and procedures are in place to act in the best interest of the child. All staff share responsibility for safeguarding children, ensuring a safe learning environment, and taking prompt action on any concerns.
Safeguarding & Wellbeing
Our staff are familiar with child protection procedures and issues and report any suspected or disclosed abuse to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). All Sultan’s School staff have completed at least Level 1 Safeguarding training in English or Arabic.
Policies and Procedures
TSS protects students from various forms of harm by creating policies that are shared with, understood by and enacted by all staff. Our Safeguarding, Child Protection and Whistle Blowing Policies can be accessed. Our policies are reviewed, improved and updated regularly.
Designated Safeguarding Leads
Staff are trained in using MyConcern, a confidential platform where Safeguarding concerns are logged. The Safeguarding team liaise to deal with concerns raised as appropriate. All staff and children are aware of the safeguarding team and how to contact them in case of a safeguarding concern.
Training and Professional Development
The Sultan’s School understands the importance of ongoing training and professional development for staff to recognize, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns effectively.
